Keyboard Layout
The first step was to decide on a layout. I used the website: http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/ to help visualize what I wanted.
I ran into a couple of issues with this site:
- It does not show a rotary encoder
- While it allows for angles, when it calculates where to put the key, it messes up bad. It took quite a bit of work to get the two sides positioned close enough.
In later versions I changed the 1.5U keys for 1U, I added the OLED screen and the two extra thumb keys. But because of the frustrations with the site it was never updated with the changes.
